IMER is a Premium Institute in India to impart training which will adhere to the legislative requirements, meet national / international standards and guidance from the marine industry wherever applicable IMER is committed to imparting this training in a consistent manner aiming at the satisfacton of the trainees, meeting their needs and that of the seafarer’s employers.

IMER was envisioned initially by Capt. Prafulla Ranjan, duly supported by Capt. Sanjay Kishore & Mr. R. P. Singh and Capt. Salil K. Mishra who together formed a Private Limited Company named "Institute of Marine Education and Research Pvt. Ltd."
